Warroad Public School District #690 is a K-12 school
system educating over 1200 students. The Warroad public
school system is proud of its diversity, technology, outstanding
facilities, staff, and the wide variety of programs it offers
students. Programs include: Early Childhood Family
Education, Kid Kare, Indian Education tutoring, LEP, optional
full-day/every-day kindergarten, Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble,
speech, One-Act Play, Business Professionals of America,
Knowledge Bowl, French and Spanish Clubs, Target Club, and
courses for college credit. Sports
programs include: cross country, baseball, lacrosse, swimming, football,
softball,
track, volleyball, hockey, basketball and golf.
The William S. and Margaret W. Marvin Warroad Scholarship
Program of the Minnesota Community Foundation was
established by Mr. Marvin with a $15 million contribution. The
fund is designed to help pay the college expenses for Warroad
High School graduates for generations to come.
Beginning with 2007 graduates from Warroad High School,
those awarded scholarships may receive up to a maximum of
$10,300 to cover first year educational expenses at a two- or
four-year college or university. Scholarships may be renewed
until undergraduate graduation or up to a maximum of four years.
Applicants must be graduating from Warroad High School and plan
to attend an accredited two or four year degree granting program
on a full-time basis. In addition, applicants must have a
minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate
academic achievement, leadership and active participation in
school and community activities.

College degree programs are offered to the community through
the Marvin Windows and Door’s Northern Lights University college program.
These college degree programs offer area residents the opportunity
to pursue higher education and receive an AAS in Supervisory Leadership
or an AAS in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance through Minnesota
State Community and Technical College. Bemidji State University
offers a BAS in Technology Management. Classroom instruction is
offered on-site at Marvin Windows and Doors. For enrollment information

Anyone 16 or older and not enrolled in high school may receive
free, basic academic instruction in the following areas:
* GED - General Educational Development diploma
* English as a Second Language
* Workforce Preparation
* Basic Skills Enhancement such as math, reading, writing, etc.
* Citizenship / Civics Education to prepare to become a U.S.
Citizen
