Lake of the Woods is accessible at the Warroad Point Park where there is plenty of free parking and fish cleaning houses. Fishing supplies are available in Warroad at the locations listed below.

Ice Fishing
As if the fishing in the summer wasn’t good enough, once the lake freezes over, hardy anglers are in for a real treat. Walleye and pike are highly desired by many fishermen making the trek onto the frozen surface each year. Nothing warms a cold winter day in Warroad like the warm smile of a successful ice angler!

Ice fish houses, available to rent from area resorts, create snowy villages on the icy surface of Lake of Woods during our long winter months. Lake of the Woods offers a variety of spots to concentrate on and a number of different fish species to entice onto your hook. Whether you prefer to venture out on the ice by yourself or in a group setting, there are many of resorts, guide services, and fishing equipment businesses to set you up with everything from licenses, equipment and bait.
